The official biography of Death In June (written only in Italian for the moment) is now out!

It's 420 pages long, has 32 full colour pages of photographs, many of which contain never before seen photos from my personal collection, has 3 chapters dedicated to my formative years in England and CRISIS as well as large extracts from an extensive interview conducted on and off over 9 years with Italian journalist Aldo Chimenti.

Also with the book is an exclusive audio CD of a separate interview conducted in English featuring 8 songs from the Death In June canon of work plus radio jingles/adverts for concerts and releases.

This CD will not be available elsewhere separately, or with any other possible future version of this book.

This very special soapstone and lazer-engraved granite release assembles onto one CD the best of 1992's “But, What Ends When The Symbols Shatter?” and 1995's “Rose Clouds Of Holocaust” albums plus two rare single tracks from the same period, generally considered one of the high points in Death In June's career.

It also includes a second CD featuring re-recorded, stripped-back acoustic “Totenpop” versions of 15 of these classics, recorded shortly after the final tour in June 2005 and mixed and produced in December 2008.

Extremocidente proudly announces the release in vinyl format of the mythical track "Some of Our Best Friends Live in South America" the earliest version of Black Radio, released in 1983 in the "New Horizons" tape compilation.
As a b-side track the remixed version of "Sons of Europe" under the name "Sons of Europe (Slaughtered)".

Both tracks are previously unreleased in vinyl format and until the re-issue in cd format of the "Lesson One: Misanthropy" compilation both were practically unheard of.
The 7" comes housed in a grey reverse board sleeve emulating the original issue of "L1:M" including the embossing and a new photo of the same session.
This record is pressed in yellow vinyl and limited to 600 units ONLY and includes a postcard and two stickers along with the insert with lyrics and info.

The first 113 units are autographed by Douglas P. and Tony Wakeford. This autographed edition is now sold out at source in Portugal.

'Black Angel - Live' recorded in Australia 24th May, 2000 was one of the first of the intense stripped-back acoustic performances featuring Douglas P. and percussionist John Murphy that characterized Death In June's live work in this new Century.

This limited edition Picture Disc LP, with a different full colour picture on each side, is coupled with a bonus 4 track CD recorded at an impromptu performance 2 years later on 26th June, 2002, at The Laundry, Melbourne, Australia featuring a rare solo performance by Douglas P. on 6 string electric guitar with unreleased live versions of tracks from the then recently-issued 'All Pigs Must Die' album.

Exciting and direct, the songs on both the Picture Disc and CD can be regarded as a 'best of' Death In June live experience up to that point in time.
All tracks have been digitally recorded and mastered.

This compilation of DEATH IN JUNE material from 1981-84 was previously only available on vinyl LP released in 1986 and is now reissued for the first time on CD. It's purpose is to tidy history and features tracks from the very beginning to the very end of the original line-up's recordings.

The CD will come in a grey/black ultra-coated debossed 'Repak' of completely recycled paper and will also include the very rare version of 'Black Radio' known as 'Some Of Our Best Friends Live In South America' previously issued on the 'New Horizons' cassette-only compilation released in 1983, plus a recently discovered unissued longer version of 'Sons Of Europe' taken from the 'Burial' album sessions.

The first 2,000 copies of this limited edition not only include an exclusive embroidered patch (the III 6 logo in light grey/black) but also features a DVD, available in both PAL and NTSC formats, of the 'Reunion' performance of the 3 original DEATH IN JUNE members Patrick Leagas, Tony Wakeford and Douglas P. which took place as an encore to the DEATH IN JUNE performance at The Underworld in London on 6.XI.98. This was the first time (and will be the only time) the original trio had played together in 14 years and the historical moment was beautifully captured on video that night by Boyd Rice.

Originally released in 1996 as Scorpion Wind's 'Heaven Sent' CD/LP this album has long since been considered the 'lost' classic collaboration between Death In June's Neo-Folk pioneer Douglas P. and Industrial Music's renegade innovator Boyd Rice.

Recorded in Australia prior to the pair starring in the cult film 'Pearls Before Swine' it is a unique, melodic and richly orchestrated ode to modern living, modern loving - and modern hating.

Joined by percussionist John Murphy (ex- SPK, The Associates, current 93) for the first of what was to prove many collaborations between the 'Unregistered 3' and young Australian group Strength Through Joy (now Ostara) these recordings proved to be the perfect follow up to 1990's ground breaking Boyd Rice & Friends album 'Music, Martinis & Misanthopy'. However, due to legal problems with distribution, few were to hear this.

On this Summer/Winter Solstice here is a gift and a challenge to some of you in this group and elsewhere who are musically, or otherwise, inclined.

Whilst beginning my writing of the new album 'The Rule Of Thirds' in October last year a certain ex(? can you ever be 'ex'?) member of 10.SS Panzer Divison 'Frundsberg' came to mind and these words came into being.

Please feel free to put them to music of your own creation, or even do a cappella versions, of how you think these words should go, and place them on the internet via this group/MySpace etc for all of us to listen and appreciate for free.

DEATH IN JUNE - 'The Phoenix Has Risen'

These recently discovered recordings were unknown to members of the group until 2005. They feature a rehearsal recording in 1981 of 9 songs, some of which were never named or released. These are coupled with 8 live songs from the seminal performance at Alan McGee's 'The Living Room' club in London, 9th September 1983. That fateful evening Mr. McGee introduced Douglas P. to Tibet 93. Musical history was never to be the same again.
The CD comes in a black/silver foil-blocked gatefold 'softpak' with also a 24cm x 24cm double-sided poster.

The soundtrack to 2005's lemon-sucking, sense-tickling film 'The Doctor' is now finally available through the gentlemen at Caciocavallo/Soleilmoon. Comprised of the pseudo ragtime and gothic kindermusik of director Thomas Nöla's orchestra, the soundtrack also contains extensive readings and lullabies by narrator Douglas P. of Death in June and the film's reclusive star Jerry Adams. Choose between CD digipak, limited double vinyl or digital download (through iTunes) depending on your persuasion.

The double LP, limited to 400 copies on violet vinyl, is presented in a gatefold cover with an 11 x 17 inch poster. THE GUILTY HAVE NO PRIDE

Finally NER Mail-Order has received its copies of this release, the first album from Death In June 'The Guilty Have No Pride' which was originally issued in 1983. Not only is it now released with tracks from the first 12" single issued in 1981 and the first 7" single issued in 1982 it is also coupled with a DVD of one of DIJ's first ever performances at The Fridge in Brixton, London early 1982. This is probably the 2nd or 3rd show the original line-up of Patrick Leagas, Tony Wakeford and myself performed together but a search through my personal archives draws a blank as to exactly when this took place so, if anyone out there knows the actual date it would be greatly appreciated.

The reissue comes in a gatefold sleeve Softpak which is embossed, foil-blocked and includes many rare and unseen photos from the period - especially in the DVD photo gallery!

BEHIND THE MASK (DVD)

Forty feet beneath the surface, Darryl Hell's interview experiment with Douglas P. took place amongst the rumbles, hisses, and thunks of the belly of a New York City skyscraper...during a harsh January 2005 blizzard. This would be the first time Douglas would take part in this type of interview project.

Its flow replicates a meandering day-long conversation held between Douglas P. and Darryl Hell at Mindswerve Studio in 2004. Their many life experiences in 1970's, 1980's punk rock, made for a fertile ground. Hell's vision for the project was to give Douglas a chance to fully articulate himself without the boundaries of the traditional interview format. The result is a roller coaster ride through Douglas' life from childhood into the future.

LAST FAREWELL

For the moment, and at least the foreseeable future, Death In June has performed its Last Farewell in the live arena. The last tour was the last tour.

There are lots of reasons why and I almost had a change of heart recently but,............

I'm 50 in 6 months time and there is much to do with DIJ and my Life inbetween now and then and beyond that needs the time that extensive touring around the World for the past umpteen years has deprived me of.

I'll miss meeting some very interesting people as most DIJ shows, particularly in the last few years, always had an atmosphere of Kameradschaft about them.
